The Cambodian governor visited the Dinh Thanh agricultural research center, based in Thoai Son district, under the management of Loc Troi Group JSC, the main rice producer and exporter in the province, on August 26. He visited a rice variety production area inside the center to study rice cultivation and hybrid rice breeding.

Welcoming Vilayvong Bouddakham, Loc Troi Group Chairman Huynh Van Thon said that his company is willing to cooperate with Champasak to carry out several high-tech agricultural projects in which Loc Troi will support and transfer the know-how in agricultural production to Champasak. culture and its property rights. crop varieties.

Impressed by the group’s success in using advanced technology in agriculture, the Lao official showed particular interest in its superior rice-growing process. He expressed his hope that Loc Troi can help Champasak grow three rice crops of the year, applying its technology and standardized process.

He also invited Loc Troi to explore investment opportunities in agricultural development and mechanization in Champasak and to help the province breed fruit varieties adapted to the local climate and create hybrid varieties of tea and coffee in order to improve productivity and quality.

Loc Troi Group was among 27 companies recognized as prestigious rice exporters by the Ministry of Industry and Commerce last year.

The group’s rice products have been exported to more than 20 countries in Europe, the Americas, Asia, the Middle East and Africa.

It has a rice-growing area of ​​more than one million hectares, owns the copyrights of the main export rice variety OM5451, and has a research institute with seven affiliated research centers.
